A Romantic Woodland Wedding at Lost Hill Lake | Ashley & William
Ashley & William’s Faith-Filled Forest Wedding at Lost Hill Lake, Missouri Wedding Venue at Lost Hill Lake in Missouri
There’s something especially meaningful about a Sunday wedding at Lost Hill Lake—and Ashley and William’s late August celebration was no exception. With 215 of their closest friends and family gathered beneath the trees, their day felt less like a single event and more like a full, heartfelt experience rooted in faith, family, and intention.
Ashley and William started their day in a way that perfectly reflected their laid-back, personal approach. The girls spent the morning getting ready at a nearby property, while the guys brought an RV on-site to the property—creating a relaxed, comfortable space of their own. (Did you know we now offer RV spaces at Lost Hill Lake?) The morning unfolded slowly, with friends stepping in for hair and makeup, laughter echoing through the trees, and final details coming together.
A Thoughtful Ceremony in the Walnut Grove
By mid-afternoon, guests began to gather at the Walnut Grove, where our stunning cross arbor draped in soft white chiffon created a beautiful focal point for the ceremony. Ferns lined the aisle, and whiskey barrels welcomed guests at the entrance, setting the tone for a natural, elegant setting.
One of the most touching elements of the day was how intentionally Ashley and William honored their faith and family. From a Bible guest book filled with handwritten notes to a memory table recognizing loved ones who are no longer with them, every detail carried weight and purpose.
Their ceremony included worship led by the bride’s sister and brother-in-law. And in a moment that guests won’t soon forget, both grandmothers took on the role of “flower grannies,” adding a joyful and memorable touch to the processional. WE LOVE THAT!
As Ashley walked down the aisle with her grandfather, the entire grove seemed to pause—capturing a moment that felt both sacred and unforgettable.
Celebration, Connection, and Golden Hour Magic
Following the ceremony, guests flowed into cocktail hour, where a relaxed, self-curated grazing experience allowed everyone to mingle and soak in the surroundings. Family photos, wedding party portraits, and quiet moments between the newlyweds filled the space as the celebration continued.
The reception kicked off with an energetic introduction of Ashley and William alongside their wedding party, leading right into a shared meal and heartfelt toasts. Speeches from loved ones—including the Maid of Honor, Best Man, and Ashley’s mom—brought both laughter and tears.
As the sun began to dip behind the trees, guests gathered for a sparkler-lit entrance into the couple’s first dance—a magical Lost Hill Lake transition into the evening’s celebration. With golden hour casting a warm glow across the property, it was the perfect moment to step away for sunset portraits before opening the dance floor.
A Night to Remember
From custom table details featuring photos of the couple through the years to a cozy sweetheart table set against a green couch backdrop, the reception space felt inviting and uniquely theirs. Guests dined, danced, and celebrated late into the evening, surrounded by the natural beauty of Lost Hill Lake.
Ashley and William’s wedding was a true reflection of what makes a Lost Hill Lake celebration so special—intentional details, meaningful moments, and a full day designed around connection.
